Welcome to the Mobile Manager Project home page

Mobile Manager is a D-Bus service to control and use mobile data devices in Linux-based platforms. Mobile Manager provides a unified API to govern the following aspects of the GPRS/3G devices attached to the system:

  • Plug & Play device support.
  • PIN/PUK management.
  • Device information and status.
  • Connection establishment and traffic monitoring.

Motivation

The main goal of the Mobile Manager project is to fill in the existing void in native 3G/WWAN device handling in Linux environments. Mobile Manager is not an end-user 3G connection manager, but such programs, and all sorts of 3G-powered apps, can be easily written on top of it.

Mobile Manager is free software released under GPLv2. The project has just launched and is in beta stage. Feel free to try it and report your comments back.

  • Download Mobile Manager, install it and try it on your particular Linux platform.
